The archaeologist allegedly discovered ‘Jesus’ face in an old painting at an ancient church in southern Israel’s Negev desert.
The experts from the Israel’s University of Haifa conduct a research and allegedly discovered a 1,500-year-old painting of the face of our Lord Jesus Christ in the ancient Byzantine village of Shivta.
The research team is composed of Guy Bar-Oz, Yotam Tepper, Ravit Linn, and Emma Maayan-Fanar.

“Christ’s face in this painting is an important discovery in itself. It belongs to the iconographic scheme of a short-haired Christ, which was especially widespread in Egypt and Syro-Palestine, but gone from later Byzantine art,” the experts said.
